Growing up in the 1960s I picked up the guitar to play rock and roll. By college, the acoustic blues caught my ear and I became enamored with fingerpicking. Since then my musical interests have traveled many roads only to return to their roots, specifically acoustic blues and popular music from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.

My guitar influences range from seminal figures such as Blind Blake, Gary Davis and Doc Watson to their more contemporary disciples such as Jorma Kaukonen, Jim Kweskin, Woody Mann and Roy Book Binder.
